(2021-2022)

Greetings to everyone!
In the words of Nelson Mandela “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
I am honored and privileged to present to you the Annual School Report for the Academic Session 2021 – 2022. Today we look forward with gratitude on the Almighty who has showered upon us plentiful blessings.
Today, the world needs creative thinkers of exceptional strength who can help solve immense challenges with their skills and amicable spirit. Our school offers the students the tools and resources to express creativity, vibrant ideas and thus make a big difference.
India moves towards a global knowledge era, therefore she has to excel in innovation and scientific spirit fixing her gaze on all round performance of her learners, such initiation is taken by our teaching fraternity transmitting physical, moral, intellectual and spiritual pursuit of knowledge.
Therefore, it is essential that we strive relentlessly to make our institution the centre of forming integrated persons by imparting quality education that produces persons with noble thoughts, self— reliance, generosity and maturity to take up social responsibility, enthusiastic, energy-filled, and collaborative and technology-based learning. Such environment produces global citizens who contribute their best to build Communities, Nation and World by developing Tolerance, Respect for one another, and Commitment towards one’s own responsibilities.
The motto of our school “Vince Te Ipsum” meaning “Know Yourself’ symbolizes our school community where students in single cells are cemented together to form one harmonious unit and are busy striving to do their best.
San Maria High School has been dedicated to providing education focusing on the whole child’s learning. We adhere to the belief that each child entrusted in our care has been created with unique and special gifts and talents. Our school is committed to helping each child begin their journey of learning with a firm foundation built upon faith in God. We offer a curriculum that builds a child’s confidence, igniting their desire to learn.
Some of the distinctive highlighting features our school has are as follows:
MORNING ASSEMBLY:
“Morning Assembly is the platform to celebrate Culture, Art, Creativity and Talent” to begin the day with prayer to God. Whenever we have assembly, it is made very lively and instructive with variety of programs like quiz, storytelling, conversation, rhymes and singing and thought for the day.
Those awarded certificates, medals or trophies are distributed in recognition of their achievements based on accolades. This in turn has given rise to their reading skills and has also updated their General Knowledge based on the quizzing conducted now and then. As they present themselves on stage amongst their peers it has enhanced their building confidence measure to speak more fluently in English and eradicate stage fear.
MANAGEMENT:
Management is very thoughtful about the growing strength of our institution. They also provided us colorful play things to the Kinder Garden students. We are indeed grateful to our Director Mr. T. Jagan Mohan Reddy sir, who always understands the situation and takes immediate step to help the needy institution and encourage staff and students in all aspects of education.
INFRA-STRUCTURE:
Infra-structure is one of the main pursuant of any school. School is well equipped with full furnished Classrooms, Computer lab, Digital lab, Mathematics & Science lab, and Library. The fact is that a good school infrastructure with renewed spaces makes it possible for children that live remote areas to study and in addition tends to improve in learning. The setup of the Physics Lab, Chemistry Lab, Biology Lab, Mathematics Lab and the Library are being utilized in full swing for the betterment of the students. We have the Dewey Library system in place where the students are given to read books based on their skill levels as per the colored coded books and are even given to take the book home for a week to allow them to complete the reading of the entire book. Newspapers, journals and magazines of various age level groups are provided on a weekly / monthly basis so that their current affairs are updated.
VALUE EDUCATION:
Education is the best way to teach Moral Values to the students. We would serve society well through moral values. Moral values refer to good virtues such as honesty, integrity, truthfulness, compassion, happiness, love, respectfulness, hard work, etc. This education is made compulsory in our school. It is very essential to impart quality education and moral values to its student’s faculty.
EXAMINATIONS:
“The quality of your thinking, determines the quality of your Life.”
Competitive exams are one way to give the students an exposure. Our students strive to obtain various achievements at different levels, starting from school and spanning many steps. The competition is not only among the fellow students of SMHS, they need to extend their boundaries and emerge as victors among other students of India. Participation, in the fields of “Srinivasa Ramanujan Foundation of Mathematics and Science Olympiad, Science Olympiad Foundation, Lead India’s SMART, Science Aptitude Test, Mathematics Aptitude Test, Unified Council’s NSTSE Mathematics and Science, St. Xavier’s Mathematics and Science are the biggest competition where a student competes to outshine others. It infuses a healthy competitive spirit through reward-based assessment.
There are as in many as 13 Olympiads from various parts of India namely SOF (Haryana), LEAD INDIA (Andhra Pradesh), SRF, have been conducted as of today both in Zonal Level and State Level. The achievements made by our students in this regard as follows:
It is a matter of great pride for us to announce that there are some State ranks achieved by our students are:
State 6thrank from Lead India Mathematics Aptitude Test Olympiad.
State 4thrank from SRF Science Olympiad
State 5thrank from CLB award council
We achieved 13 Zonal ranks from Lead India Mathematics Aptitude Test.
There have another 9 Zonal Ranks from LEAD INDIA’s Aptitude and Reasoning Test
2 district ranks have been achieved, front SRF Mathematics Olympiad
2 districts ranks achieved, from SRF Science Olympiad
10 District Ranks from Science Aptitude Test from Lead India Olympiad
Apart from these, 5 Gold medals, Silver and Bronze Medals have been received by SOF International Mathematics Olympiad.
4 Gold medals, silver and Bronze Medals were also received by our students from SOF National Science Olympiad.
Many milestones have been achieved and many still have to be reached. We at SMHS will continue our unceasing efforts to mould the young minds into well balanced personalities with confidence and zeal befitting the standards of this portal of education. On this memorable occasion as we recount our success with pride and happiness, we wish to dedicate all our achievements to the committed effort of a committed team called SMHS. It’s our students who made all our efforts truly meaningful and rewarding by their significant effort to do their best and becoming knowledgeable, skilled arid responsible citizens. We are proud of every one of them.
CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
With the introduction of LEAD SCHOOL focused on Concept Learning it was very much a challenge at the beginning in usage of Teacher’s Tab, Student App and coming to terms with the children’s comprehending abilities. However, with more practical learning given in class and at home, and mentoring from the students has got them spellbound and engaged in the learning abilities as a lot of focus was given to Pragmatism that is Learning by Doing which the students enjoyed and benefitted from it. More so there monitoring of teachers by the faculty to ensure that everyone was on the same page and group discussions were encouraged to add more impetus to learning.
We continue to ensure that spoken English is encouraged at all times while in school to enhance their communicative levels and imbibe strong building confidence measures amongst themselves.
Remedial classes are conducted on daily basis to focus our attention to the slow learners and target them up an achievable position among the others.
High level of participation in parents and children’s learning is encouraged. Continuous assessment of a child’s progress is monitored and reported. Great emphasis is laid on Discipline, Punctuality, Reverence, Neatness, Patriotism and Obedience to Parents and Teachers and love for others.
CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
In this current scenario excellence in studies is no mere final; it’s not limited to the result in the progress card. The world is so progressive up to date with lots of technology, so it waits for the well-equipped citizens and excellent pupil who can be talented in all-round level.
Due to Pandemic situation, San Maria High School has taken keen precautions and conducted Sports and Games, Memory Test, Drawing, Singing, Dancing, Debate, Elocution, Essay Writing, Fancy Dress, Rangoli, etc. This is to bring sportive competition among the students. The Children are given importance, encouragement, and support to take an active participation in the activities mention above.
In the Inter-House competitions, Yellow Group achieved the Overall Championship Trophy for the year 2021-2022.
Both Indoor and outdoor competitions are held in the true spirit with regards to Sports Day
With focus given to Karate some of our students participation at the district level for which many received Gold Medals, some received Silver and one student received Bronze which showcases the interest level that our students prepare themselves for as they would be presenting themselves on the program later today.
This year we have introduced Net Ball and many of our students played for District, State and National levels and brought lot of medals to our school.
As part of the Health Campaign, we had the Vaccination to all the children ageing from 12 and above. This is done in taking the consent of the parents for various reasons.
World Yoga Day was observed with the students learning the basics of Yoga on Online this year due to Pandemic Times and its importance. Mass PT Drill is conducted every Wednesday to strengthen their mind and body.
SPORTS ACADEMY:
Efforts too, have been made to setup a one of its kind Sports Academy here in Jangaon where the exposure cum raw talent is harnessed to students in excelling the game of Cricket, Badminton, Netball, Athletics, Chess, etc, are on full swing and students have enrolled themselves to keep themselves fit physically.
FESTIVALS & MONTHLY CELEBRATIONS IN THE SCHOOL:
A fiesta of colorful events and festivals marked the academic year. “Light is bright and beautiful in whatever lamp it may bum, even as a rose is beautiful in whichever garden it may bloom”.
Celebrations are eye feasting at San Maria High School. We celebrate Religious and National festivals in our school. Every religion is given equal importance. National festivals are celebrated with patriotic feelings including rhythmic songs, speeches on the specials of the day. A feeling of oneness is aroused in the minds of students. Our education proves what we are, our relationship proves how we are and our citizenship proves where we are. We make students to feel proud to be an Indian by organizing various events at school.
Founder’s Day was celebrated on September 5″ 2021, on the remembrance of late Fr. Francis on whose dream and vision these institutions were set up. We had the Religious gathering and offered prayers.
The Pre-Primary children observed Color Day which went out smoothly from the cooperation extended by parents to ensure that their child participated in this event.
Mathematic day was celebrated on the birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan on 22 Dec-2021.
We also conducted the Student Led Conferences to make the learning far more reaching to the students as well as to the parents.
To unfold and help our children blossom to the optimum level the school offers ample opportunities and encourages the students to participate in the festival celebrations through cultural programs like Independence Day, Children’s Day, Christmas celebration, Bathukamma, Rangoli, etc.
